About Your Donation

Every donation contributes to scholarships for students to experience educational opportunities developing their individual gifts to serve and support their current and future communities. Understanding our gifts allows us to develop confidence and strength in ourselves and others.

Students apply for scholarships through an application process that are read and evaluated by the  JDSFF Board of Directors and application readers. 

 

The J.D. Smith Family Foundation

Dr. Kiva Smith-Spiratos and her husband John Spiratos established the J.D. Smith Family Foundation in October, 2023, in honor of the passing of her brother, Jeffrey Dean (55) and their mother, Linda (75). Jeff and Linda passed away just 4 months apart from each other in April and August of 2023.

The JDSFF establishes a legacy in their memory and memorializes the dedication of Jeff and Kiva’s parents, Dean and Linda, who continually modeled to their children and friends that the greatest happiness and strength is found in the loving family you create, the friends you make, and utilizing your unique gifts to serve and support the the success of yourself and others.
